Announcing My Trip Abroad!

Announcing My Trip Abroad!

I’m back on Sunny and Sweet! For the past couple of months I’ve been absorbed in a backpacking trip (see more about this here) and after that, readings and preparations for the upcoming school year. Although it has been a busy couple of months, things are gearing up for an exciting new adventure that kicks off next Thursday. For those of you who know me personally, you already know about my upcoming trip abroad, but for readers who might not know, I have an exciting announcement!

I’m going to be studying for the school year in England!

Specifically, I am studying at Regent’s Park College of Oxford University. I will be studying English Literature and Creative Writing, and hopefully traveling a LOT. Though I still don’t have many plans about where I hope to travel to, I am excited to see where this first semester takes me. Though the fact that I’m traveling abroad in the UK hasn’t quite hit me yet, I know I will have an incredible time. There will be so many new experiences, so keep an eye out for updates and photos here on the blog! For those of you who have traveled Europe before, I would love suggestions on places to visit! Leave me some in the comments below.

What I’ve been working on

The reason that I’ve been so busy and unable to write much on the blog is that I have been absorbed in readings for my Oxford tutorials. For most of September I have been working on reading all of Shakespeare’s tragedies as well as an assortment of criticisms and historical accounts about Shakespeare. A fantastic volume that I have discovered is A Year in the Life of William Shakespeare by James Shapiro. Find it here! This is a lively and easy to read account of one of the most influential years of Shakespeare’s life and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in literature. I have quite enjoyed finding different places to settle with my Shakespeare readings. It might be a bit nerdy, but I truly enjoy reading and learning about this subject and I look forward to studying it more in depth while traveling abroad in the UK.

What to expect from Sunny and Sweet

My hopes for this blog are still the same. I want to continue writing about the things that inspire me and sharing my travel experiences. Though I might have less time to read, I will do my best to keep up with the book reviews and there will be a lot of travel posts coming up! My hope is that, in the next week or two, I can get some of the book reviews from the summer posted. Keep an eye out for those as well as updates on my travels in England!

See you in England!
